Pirate treasure hunt was well organized

Hi Nikki the kids had a blast at this pirate party! I needed plenty of adult helpers as it was for my sons 6 yr old bday party but all the work paid off. This was an amazing, well thought out and organized treasure hunt. When I get a chance I will try to send out some pictures. Thanks for all your online assistance throughout the planning stages! All the best

Pirate treasure hunt party with team flags

Hi Nikki,

The pirate treasure hunt party is long over. It was a great success. I did make some changes which I thought I would pass along to you. I had all of the girls together, divided them up into their teams and as a big group they dressed up as pirates and continued as a big group to the flag making station. So they were outfitted and had their team flags before starting the hunt. My treasure chest was a pi?ata which, after they put the puzzle together they broke open. It was a lot of fun and my neighbor asked where I got my ideas from. Thanks

Haven't told the children yet about the treasure hunt

Nikki,

Thank you for checking on me. I was really reluctant to agree to the treasure hunt, but after getting your manual, I am getting excited.

I have an idea where I am going to bury the treasure and have decided to prepare 6 individual treasure chests and these will be buried in a bigger treasure chest.

I purchased a disposable ice chest and will spray paint it black, brown or gold, not sure yet on the color. I bought the smallest one available because it had a rope attached to it and I wanted to make sure it is not too heavy for the kids to pull it up.

I will fill each treasure chest up stuff for the winners and place them all staked on top of each other in the ice chest. I will then place filled individual goodie bags on top of the treasure chests that the winners get to 'share' their spoils with others. The individual bags will contain coins, gems, etc and a thanks for participating note.

I have read your instructions several times and think I have a good handle on it and feel pretty good about what I need to do to make it successful.

I haven't told my children that I've planned this for their party because if I tell them anything in advance, they will ask day and night millions of questions and will not allow me a moments peace.

Surprise 16th treasure hunt party starts with a kidnap!

I am planning a surprise 16th birthday party with a pirate theme for my daughter. The pirate treasure hunt will take place in a park in Yucaipa, CA. The party is for girls around my daughter's age. I have planned a treasure hunt around the park, enlisted some helpers and plan to 'bury' the treasure in a painted styrofoam chest filled with gifts from the .99 cent store under some bushes. We will begin by kidnapping my daughter from a local ice cream shop and proceed to the park for the treasure hunt. I think it will be great fun and I hope the girls will dress up in pirate garb. If not, I have some props for them. I'll let you know how it went after Friday.

Fabulous treasure chest

Hi Nikki, Treasure Hunt was a hit, thanks. We had five stations that were in our back yard, front yard, neighbours and out in the kids hide-out in the bush behind our house. The treasure and the key (which was in an old gumboot) were hidden in the bush behind our house. When they had the treasure and the key they met in the hide-out to open the treasure. The treasure was filled with fake pearl necklaces, fake gold necklaces, glass stones (they were meant to be diamonds) and gold coins (chocolate filled). Thanks again

Treasure hunt picnic with 8 yr old solving five to eight puzzle

We did the treasure hunt at our picnic on Sunday and it was a hit. I learned a lot, particularly about being rushed into setting it up. But all in all, everyone had a good time and they were challenged by the clues. One dad was so proud of his 9 year-old son, who figured out the five to eight puzzle while the adults were still working on it. I will definitely be thinking of clues and prizes for the treasure throughout the whole year, just to make it better next time. Thank you.

Pirate treasure hunt for 40th wedding anniversary

Hi, Nikki! I have received the party planner The party will take place in Concord, North Carolina, USA, and it will be on August 5th 2006. The occasion is our 40th wedding anniversary party. Scavenger hunt planning book is a wonderful resource

Hi Nikki,

What at wonderful resource your scavenger hunt e-book is. The hunt is tonight and I have already spent about three hours prepping with at least 3 more to do. It's raining here so we are keeping game inside the house, on the porch and in the screen in porch too.

The boundaries, rules and age appropriate list were extremely helpful. Our group is ages 8-9 girls. There are 9 girls coming all of whom will be randomly divided into three groups of three. Unfortunately one of the babysitters cancelled last night so I'm now wrestling with three teams and two supervisors.....

Got to go, but I will f/u with news and feedback.. You are amazing to have the care and concern to email me.

I dearly appreciate it.

Still talking about treasure hunt after school holidays

Hi Nikki,

We had a great party. The games we played at the party was like Amazing Race. They had to play a game to get a clue. (They collect all seven clues and put it together to find the treasure). I made passport for everyone. We traveled around the world to all seven continents. They had different ways to travel around the world. (bike, Wheel bower, skates, etc.) When they collected all the clues they had to find the treasure box that was buried.

We had two teams. I know the kids loved it we had it before our spring break, and yesterday was the first day back and they were still talking about it.

Thanks for the help and ideas.

Treasure hunt for annual block party - so fabulous the neighbors will HATE us!

Hi Nikki,

Yes, I have finally had the time to download the Treasure Hunt Game with the Pirate Theme (Thank GOD that 'Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest' has hit the movies this Summer!). All the amenities we need to support the theme is in all of the party stores everywhere in NY.

The Hunt if for an upcoming Annual Block Party that takes place in my town of West Babylon, NY, USA. We believe that the Hunt will be organized for approximately 45 - 50 youngsters (~ 5 - 6 children per Team @ 8 - 9 stations/houses).

We have even recruited the help of all the participating neighbors to act as Station Overseers to oversee and judge the puzzles and challenges! We figure why not get the whole lot of them involved right??......It's a PARTY and we're all there to have fun!

It is a rather large party, and we have ordered the Child version for ages 6 - 16. We have incorporated most of the puzzles and challenges that you have suggested in the 'Pirate Theme package', only because we no imagination! (That's not really true....but there are so many other details to attend to, as our house alone is expecting ~ 100 persons throughout the day, and there are about 8 or 9 families participating on our block!).

We are very excited about how the Treasure Hunt will come out, but the Block Party Organizer seems to think it will be the 'hit of the party'! Our neighbor's are going to HATE us! We don't have any children, and seem to come up with all the great ideas at this annual event.......with YOUR HELP this time of course! Thank you!

I will write back once we have played (8/12 or 13th) to provide you with some feedback on the outcome, or.....should I hit a mental block and need some suggestions I will contact you earlier! (ha-ha-ha)!

Thanks again for making this as simple as possible, and we look forward to a great event.

Most Sincerely,

Mike Boruch, New York USA

Summer employee party with treasure hunt clues

It went great. It was a summer end employee party and at the end the treasure was a chest full of $1 gold coins. Each employee got part of the treasure. I had to modify the clues to make it work at my resort but it went great. The employees loved it. The only thing I would do different would be to number the clues. A couple of groups found a clue that was not the correct one. If I numbered them, they would know that it wasn't the right clue. However, the team that actually won the treasure hunt didn't skip any clues so that part was kinda funny

Thanks to my new party planning best friend

Dear Nikki, I can't tell you what a life saver you are. My Halloween invitations were all sent; advertising a Treasure Hunt and I became ill. I didn't know how I was ever going to pull it off, but 2 days before the party I logged in and within 1 hour I had edited the clues you provided to fit our surroundings. I then emailed them to my office; printed, cut and separated. Trust me...now that I know how wonderful your made to order ''hunts' are; we will be having them at every party. The kids and adults had a blast.

Please keep me informed of anything new, especially for adult parties. Thanks again to my new party planning best friend!

Surprise treasure hunters birthday party

Nikki,

I usually plan my kid's birthdays in advance. My daughter is turning 13 this year, and decided 'last minute' to throw her a surprise birthday party. All the girls attending the party will be between 13-15 years old. We are north of Denver, Colorado, USA.

She loves that show 'Treasure Hunters' so we decided a treasure hunt theme is what we would have. I began scouring the internet for treasure hunt information, as I had an idea of what to do. I found your website, bought the online 'book', and printed it (wow lots of pages). I was happy to find something I could get immediately, because of the time constraint.

After my daughter went to bed, my husband and I began reading through it. Wow! What wonderful ideas! We have decided on 7 different locations to hide the 'puzzle pieces' and activities, along with the clues to the next location. All outside, and the puzzle will tell them to go to the (community) pool to find the treasure. That way they can swim when they have found it.

Her party is on Saturday (which is only three days away), and we are so excited. I only have to buy a few things (chocolate gold coins, necklaces, bandanas, etc) for the party. Your book (so far) has been an asset to me.

I'll let you know how the party went.

Kids were so into treasure hunt tasks

Hi Nikki,

Yes, we did have the treasure hunt and it was a lot of fun. It was for my daughter's 9th birthday and she had 12 guests. We had wished to play it outside but the weather did not cooperate so we stayed inside my house and garage area. It worked out fine to be inside.

The kids were so into the tasks. It was really fun for me to think up creative and fun things for them to do at each city. At one city they had to pick a teammate to be wrapped up in a whole roll of toilet paper. We had an obstacle course and I even through in some math problems to figure out.

For the treasure box I was able to find a bulk bag of gold/chocolate coins to mix in with other loot. It was great and I will definitely be using the plan again in the future.

Thanks for your help.

School survivor week scavenger hunt

Girls so much more up for it than the guys!

Hi Nikki,

Yes our birthday scavenger hunt was a GREAT success. Your material gave me lots to choose from and I was grateful. I used the treasure map for the invitations and rolled them up to hand out. The list was on the treasure map and it was 8 items to look for or info to find and 8 photos to take to make memories & proof of it getting done. It was a teen girl team against teen guy team and the playing field was the city of Wichita, KS so they had a certain time to be back complete or not and the one with the most done was the winner. They all came back with wonderful stories and had lots of fun. I learned though that the guy against girl wasn't the best cause the guys were too COOL to do some of the list, but the things they did they had FUN! Whereas if they had had mixed teams the girls would have persuaded them into doing everything!!

3 of the top things they talk still about doing were:

1) Photo with policeman (extra points if he'll let you all in his car) He did but didn't thing they would all fit & they crammed in the back seat - he took the picture.:)

2) Signature of fireman (the girls took it a step farther and asked if he could bring the truck to their house for EXTRA points) they couldn't

3) the most daring (per girls) was going to get 2 balloons from some restaurant and giving one away to a kid and bring one home (this was Fri. night during busy evening meal and they went into Applebees asked for 2 balloons and went up to a family that had a girl and asked to take her picture while they were eating & the little girl was sooooo happy.

On the other hand the guys said the police they stay away from so it was crossed off their list from the start NOT to do. They like going to the mall and riding the merry go round. They also liked finding a statue to take a picture with came back with MANY statue pictures it was funny. They also didn't have a hard time finding hats & taking pictures except they were worried about messing their hair up (what's up with that!)

While planning this double birthday party it has prompted other ideas one for our leadership Christmas party at church promoting unity & working together to accomplish a task. Also I have talked with our

Coordinator who is up for the idea of a scavenger hunt during next summer's Family Reunion. Should be loads of fun.

Thanks for the great info! I am going to try to send a photo let me know if it makes it.

Treasure Hunt is easy ready to go package

The treasure hunt went very well, thanks! I was in a big rush, since my daughter decided last minute she'd like to have a birthday party, but we had it yesterday for a group of older teen girls. I've done several treasure hunts before--some of my own devising--but yours was a nice ready-to-go package, which is what I needed. Definitely worth the money. I especially liked your suggestions to have a variety of challenges that would speak to all the teammates various strengths. We live on 5 acres and also have various buildings that can be part of a hunt, so ours lasted about 1 1/2 hours! The girls kept very busy!

Anyway, thanks for making a good product.

Son says 'I love you' for organizing such a great Halloween treasure hunt party

Hi Nikki,

We had the Halloween treasure hunt party the day after we ordered your planner. It was my son's 12th birthday party and he complained that he didn't want to play any games, but I didn't want 10 children running through the house for 3 hours. Our party was held in an old convent in Pennsylvania, USA. The guests were aged from 6 to 35. We had a Halloween theme, since Shane's birthday is October 31st. The guests had to search for Uncle's Seymour's Last Will & Testament.

The rooms were named Mad Scientist's Lab, The Doomed Room, The Porthole to the End of the Universe, The Asylum, The Chamber of Horrors and The

Graveyard. We followed all your suggestions for the challenges, teaming older players with younger ones. The puzzle pieces led the players to the chapel (we have a real chapel with stained glass windows and oak pews in our home), where we had hidden the Last Will & Testament with directions to Uncle Seymour's most treasured worldly possessions.

My two sons, my husband and I dressed in Halloween costumes and supervised the rooms. Even after one team had located the treasure, the others were having so much fun that they asked if they could complete the remaining challenges (the one with the peas seemed to be everyone's favorite). Everyone had a great time, but what made me happiest was that my son kept thanking me the next day, telling me how much he loved me for throwing such a great party for him. Thank you for the great plans - they were well worth the money!

Gratefully,

Great treasure hunt for summer vacation

I used the Treasure Hunt Game ('The Great Hunt for Summer Vacation') for a group of 1st through 5th graders (about 80 kids) as part of our last day of school activities. They had a great time. Several kids asked me if we'll be able to do it again next year. Some of the parent volunteers and teachers encouraged me to keep all the props and signs so we can use the game again. The teachers really enjoyed it.

I'm planning to use the game once again for a class party for my son this summer ... probably with a different theme. It was easy to set up, and the challenge ideas were awesome. Thanks!

Life saver last minute Halloween Treasure Hunt

Dear Nikki

I can't tell you what a life saver you are. My Halloween invitations were all sent; advertising a Treasure Hunt and I became ill. I didn't know how I was ever going to pull it off, but 2 days before the party I logged in (log in info in your purchase confirmation email) and within 1 hour I had edited

the clues you provided to fit our surroundings. I then mailed them to my office; printed, cut and separated. Trust me...now that I know how wonderful your made to order ''hunts' are; we will be having them at every party. The kids and adults had a blast.

Please keep me informed of anything new, especially for adult parties.

Thanks again to my new party planning best friend!
