Christmas Eve treasure hunts

We did 2 treasure hunts on Christmas Eve which went down really well.

We did one for the younger kids inside. The one for the older kids we did outside and they loved it.

We kept them entertained doing this for more than an hour and they loved trying to work out the clues. Surprisingly, 5 boys aged between 5 and 9 all worked together to solve the clues

Simple and effective ideas for Easter Egg Hunt

Hello Nikki, Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our Easter Egg Hunt today. Followed your instructions and the children loved it.

I now have all sorts of ideas for future parties. Your ideas were simple, common sense, but I never would have thought of them. Well worth the $29.

Church group picnic and treasure hunt in the park

I am planning a picnic for our church group, and it will be over 100 people there. We are having it at a local park and will have access to it only 1 hr before people will start arriving. The park is a large grass area with a shelter in the middle.

Family Christmas treasure hunt

Dear Nikki hope you had a great Christmas,

The treasure hunt went really well - especially the challenges. Of course the losing team had to do a forfeit, we dressed them in Santa outfits and the rest of us were their reindeer - the forfeit was that Father Christmas had to go to the nearest post box and post his travel receipts back to Lapland and ask the first passer by if they could take a photograph of us all as proof that father Christmas had been to Croydon Surrey England - we did it, but not before mum and dad had run off into a neighbour?s garden to avoid all possible chance meetings with anyone they knew!

And just to get everything into context I am 43 mum is 65 and dad 75 - why haven?t we played this years ago?

I have taken pictures to send to you. Thanks very much.

Kids enjoyed treasure hunt challenges

Hi, Nikki,

I wanted to let you know that my son's birthday party was a huge success! If it wasn't for your treasure hunt package deal with pre-printed pages and instructions, there would have been no way I could have had the birthday party at all. I started at noon planning each station and looking for things to do the challenges with, and by the time my son and his 9 junior high-age friends got to the house, I had each station planned, the cake frosted, and treasure chest hidden.

The kids really enjoyed the challenges and had a choice of movies that were pirate themed: Goonies, Pirates of the Caribbean, and National Treasure. Thank you so much for making my job easier and a great hit with the rest of the kids. You know, kids aren't as easily impressed these days, and my younger son is asking for this for his birthday. Thanks again, I'll check out your other add-ons for party ideas!

Church treasure hunt in the Whistler mountains

It worked out well for our ecumenical church congregational life day here in the Whistler mountains of British Columbia. I even adapted the stations to be various spot where St Paul journeyed on his travels - and it was all well received by everyone of all ages. The treasure was our birthday cake and ice cream - after the build up I think the kids wanted more.

Thanks again for making it available online.

Treasure Hunt Party with Medieval Theme

Hi Nikki,

It was a GREAT party!! We live in the bush, we had 2 teams of boys going to 6 stations to get the map to find the treasure....the theme was a dress as someone from a Medieval Castle...so it was the Shields and Spears....albeit we weren't encouraging high competitiveness....swimming in the dam followed...

After the last ones left we were dancing the dance of joy, delight and exhilaration....a couple of boys came back to say it was the best party they had ever been too.

Thanks for spreading your expertise which in turn is spreading joy in the world.

Regards,

Belinda Gross, Victoria Australia

Thanks for great treasure hunt

Hi Nikki, Many thanks for the great Treasure Hunt game planner and the supportive communications. I was asked to do a treasure hunt for a friend?s 40th and we went away to a beautiful country house for the weekend. The group included some very competitive men - so it was great to have a really strong, uncheatable structure for the treasure hunt as a basis!

Anyway - they loved it and said it was the best treasure hunt they had ever done. So I?m sure you?ll get some hits as a result. Thanks again and good wishes for your business

Pirate treasure hunt plans for daughter's 11th birthday

Nikki, I am doing the pirate treasure hunt for my daughter's 11th birthday. We are located in Leawood, Kansas which is a suburb of Kansas City. We are having twelve guests at the party and are also having a pirate dinner. The party is on Oct.7. I am in the process of getting the game ready. It sounds great!

I was going to come up with the game myself when I found your website when I was looking for ideas. I sure was relieved to find your game. It is exactly right. The only thing I am going to change is the challenge with the costume pieces because the girls are going to come to the party in costume already. I think we will do a challenge involving a message in a bottle. Thanks for the great ideas,

Christian family treasure hunt for teenage party

Hello Nikki,

We are planning a Masquerade Ball for our daughter Abbi's 16th birthday and thought your treasure hunt game would be a good activity and would blend well with our theme.

We are a conservative Christian family and will be inviting the teenage sons and daughters of other Christian families and we wanted to make sure your game would be appropriate for our gathering. We had previously ordered a party game online (from a different site) that was described as a teen version, however, once we downloaded the game we realized there was too much material in it that violated Biblical principles so we could not use it. Unfortunately, the person we ordered it from would not give us a refund. It was not a treasure hunt. I think your treasure hunt will be much more suitable for our needs and more adaptable for a 'dress-up' party.

We want this birthday party to be something Abbi can look back on with glad memories and for it to be something we can all feel good about.

I appreciate your taking time to respond to my email.

Sincerely,

Patricia Smith, Oklahoma USA

Teenage girls are very keen on scavenger hunt party

We had the scavenger hunt party and the girls loved it! I have never seen 17 18 year olds change clothes from their dresses and high heels into jeans and sweats so quickly! It was amazing how competitive and creative in their searches they were! You provided a lot of great ideas I know we will use again. Thanks.

I expect to use this treasure hunt game many times over

I am planning a treasure hunt in Chesapeake, VA, USA.

June 3rd, Church social event.

Guests are aged between 25 and 45

I've read through it twice. I'm beginning to assemble information. This is a well prepared game, one I expect to use many times with my children's parties, scouting groups, and an upcoming family reunion.

Compasses and shovels for treasure hunt

Dear Nikki, We had a great time!! I had 25 children over. We used compasses and shovels. The groups of kids went from clue to clue. Some were even tied on a balloon and placed on a pond to float around. The treasure hunt party was 3 hours long. Thanks

50th birthday party treasure hunt

Thanks !

Theme: 50th birthday party. 40 confirmed guests (20yrs.old to 60 yrs. old) Back yard is 3/4 acre predominantly grass, I have a group of trees covering an area of about 30 x 50 and other scattered trees throughout the backyard.

I do not live on a farm, a subdivision with 1 acre to 1 1/4 acre lots.

I'm thinking somewhere in the group of trees for the treasure. Buried 9 inches ?

I prefer a clue because the map will lead directly to group of trees (seems to easy)

Thinking 6 groups of 6.

Stations will all be within earshot (Not sure if that is good) I want to keep everyone in the backyard.

What do I do while everyone is active? First to the food?

Treasure hunt was a bit unorganized - still great!

Hello Nikki, I had my treasure hunt for my 10 year old daughter?s birthday. It was a bit unorganized but hey I had to work the morning of the party. We had 17 kids over. My husband was uneasy about how we were going to keep them all entertained and having fun for 5 hours. It was great! I scattered the stations all over the place. Finding the treasure map was the best. My husband hid it in a bird house. It took them like 10 minutes to clue in. They ran around it who knows how many times. The next best thing was the actual location of the treasure chest. Instead of burying it we strung it up in a tree. Of course, no one thought of looking up. It was right in the middle of all the action throughout the whole hunt. We were laughing. It was a blast. This party took place middle of July. On this past Monday, one of kids mentions to my daughter that that was the most fun at a party. Now the other kids want treasure hunts too. Next year it will be even better since we had the trial run and it went over amazing. Thanks for your help.

Instant Treasure hunt was perfect

We have tried out the game for my son's 6th birthday. It was great! We had three teams of three or four kids and one adult each. I had mixed up the clues and starting points and they all lead to the same end point -- a pirate treasure trunk filled with lots of treasures! The kid's had so much fun. Some of them were readers and had fun reading the clues for the rest of the group. The hunt went from inside the house to outside around the yard, gardens, trees, fences, flower pots, wheel barrow, etc. The Instant Treasure Hunt Game was perfect in helping me with this party activity!

THANKS!

Pirate Treasure Hunt party for Citigroup

The party will take place at Citigroup in Amherst, NY US in April. It is a Spring Pirate Treasure theme party for the employees children and every year we have between 100 and 200 children ranging in age from 2 through 14. In the past we always had a Easter, Halloween, and Christmas party. Due to our increasing size, we are now only having a Halloween and a themed Spring party. Each year will be a different theme. All children attend with parents and we usually have anywhere from 20 - 30 volunteers (without children) who run the party.

Scavenger Hunt good neighbor cards

The scavenger hunt was great! We gave each team good neighbor cards. They gave them to the homeowner. It basically said, 'If we were courteous to you and your property, call this number and tell them our team name.' for each phone call, they received one 'good Neighbor' point. The team with the most points won a prize! It worked great. The whole neighborhood gave them so many compliments. Since they were 12 and 13, we had to come up with ways to make sure they were nice. And it worked. In their sacks they had a flashlight, a map of the neighborhood, a marker, a notepad, tape, and either a cell phone or a walkie-talkie.

I am attaching our final list. We have a huge candy bar for the team with the most points. Gum for the best turkey. Silly String for the silliest poem. Cotton candy for the sweetest good deed. Diapers filled with candy for the best babysitter stuff.

My sister lives across the street, and she took all the little brothers and sisters, and had an indoor scavenger hunt with them! Fun!

They all had fun! And, the parents had a great time! While they were gone, we had time to build a fire and go get the pizza. Perfect! Thank you for all your help!

Treasure hunt for Church group following film of National Treasure

Nikki, I got the Treasure Hunt for my Church Group. We meet once a month for a Movie Night and on the night of the Treasure Hunt we were watching 'National Treasure'. I thought a treasure hunt would be fun to do before the movie and everyone had a great time! I didn't have a clue on how to have a treasure hunt, so I went to the web and found you.

You did a great job of putting this game together and I will be able to use it for many more parties to come. I used some of your ideas and did few of my own and it turned out to be a huge success. Everyone is still talking about how much fun they had.

We had our hunt all indoors on Friday night, April 7th. I will attach a few of the pictures from our 'Treasure Hunt'. Thanks for the help.

Pirate Treasure Hunt Game is cool

Hi Nikki, My son is having his 'half' birthday at school because it is during the summer.

We did the Pirate Treasure Hunt Game for his whole birthday last summer. Anyway, he asked me if we were going to do a 'really great and cool party like last time' for his half birthday. So 6 months later he still remembers the Pirate Treasure Hunt and still thinks it was cool!

I thought I would keep this Scavenger Hunt on hand.

Teenager trusts parents to pull of the scavenger hunt!

Dear Nikki:

Your ebook is a treasure in its own. We are going to have the scavenger hunt-birthday party on June 15, it's for a 16-year old girl whom I had to convince that the clues were not going to be 'dumb' - I read a couple from various age groups and she smiled!!!!! That's a heck of an accomplishment, so now she trusts her parents that we actually could pull this off. (she of course does not remember all the previous successful parties that we threw for her and her sisters while they were growing up, we don't get credit for those).

We live in Massachusetts, a little town (18,000 residents) west of Boston called Westborough. It used to be a sleepy little town, we had 12 dairy farms when we moved here in 1980, and now it's a affluent suburb.

Because the party will be held on the last day of school, there's a lot of activities going on in town so we just hope that this hunt will be one of the most attended one. I had not thought about a theme, beyond 'last day of school'.... With a 16-year old, and a girl on top, who quite be quite finicky, we try to accommodate her wishes while being responsible. For instance, she wanted the scavenger hunt at night.... well, that did not work for us, we were not going to be responsible for a group of teenager roaming about town at dark. So we had to compromise and I think we came up with a good plan. Her father's still on the fence, because we'll have to have adult drivers lined, but it's a small inconvenience to pay for the security of the kids and the pleasure that they'll all derive from the party.

I read through the book and then printed out the pages that I needed - I'll pull from various age groups because some of the clues are a riot - 4 ice cubes? and bring them back unmelted? I just have to throw that one in.

So I have high expectations that the kids will be very excited and happy with the event. The next challenge that we have not quite yet overcome is to agree on the food to serve. One challenge at a time..

Thank you for your wonderful material.

Brigitte Casemyr, Massachusetts USA
